October 21 we were privileged to have Ms. Susan Dentzer, Editor-in-Chief, Health Affairs and one of the nation's most respected health policy experts presenting at our Department's Grand Rounds. Ms. Dentzer's topic of discussion was, "The Obama Administration, the 111th Congress, and Health Care Reform". Ms. Dentzer was recently inducted as a member of the Institute of Medicine, the highest honor for a healthcare journalist. In January of 2009, Ms. Dentzer's article "Communicating Medical News--Pitfalls of Health Care Journalism" was published as the lead article in The New England Journal of Medicine. We were also honored to have Diane Holder, President of UPMC Health Plan; Sandra Danoff-Sr. Vice President and Chief Communications Officer of UPMC and Hilda Pang Fu-Director of External Relations from the University of Pittsburgh Health Sciences Department. |
