Description: The Sports Medicine Center was the venue for the Dartmouth Alumni Meeting in Pittsburgh on Sept. 3. Dr. Freddie Fu and Dave Shribman ('76), Editor of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, welcomed over 120 Dartmouth past and future Alumni and their families from the Class of 1941 through 2013. It was a great honor to have Dr. Albert B. Ferguson, Jr. attend this event.

Dartmouth College, with a total enrollment of almost 6,000 students the smallest member of the Ivy League, and the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery share a long tradition as 2 out of the Department's 5 chairmen, Albert B Ferguson, JR, MD (Class of '41) and Freddie H. Fu, MD (class of '74) and Interim Chairman 1986-'88 Edward N. Hanley, Jr. MD ('72), a close friend of Paul Robb ('71), are among its graduates.

Established in 1769 by Elizur Wheelock, Dartmouth College is ranked as one of the Top Programs in the Country and in 2009 was ranked 1st by the U.S. News & World Report in undergraduate teaching at national universities, ahead of Princeton, Yale, Stanford, Brown and Duke. The 2006 Carnegie Foundation classification listed Dartmouth as the only majority-undergraduate, arts-and-sciences focused institution in the country that also had some graduate coexistence and very high research activity.
