| Presentation Title: |
"Evaluating Customized Fetal Growth Curves" |
| |
| Presentation Details: |
"Customized" fetal growth curves are weight-for-gestational-age charts that have been individualized to account for maternal influences on fetal growth. It has been hypothesized that this individualization creates growth curves that can be used for more accurate detection of small-for-gestational-age and intrauterine growth retardation. We have shownthat much of the benefit of customization arises due to the choice of an in utero growth reference at preterm ages, rather than the customization factors per se. I will discuss this work, and present ongoing work on the extent to which customization for as yet undiscovered factors might improve results.
