The JOA Traveling Fellows visited Pittsburgh June 27-30, 2009. The 2009 JOA Fellows are Dr. Tadahiko Kubo [Hiroshima, Japan,) Dr. Hiromu Ito [Kyoto, Japan], Dr. Ken Okazaki [Fukuoka, Japan], Dr. Riichiro Tsukamoto [Kanagawa, Japan], Dr. Keiichiro Nishida [Okayama, Japan] and Dr. Muneaki Ishijima [Tokyo, Japan].The JOA Travelling Fellowship is sponsored in collaboration with the AOA and has been established in 1992. It is a reflection of the Japanese orthopaedic community commitment to excellence and education through international exchange. US Fellows travel even years and visit top Japanese academic centers and historical landmarks. The AOA sponsors yearly visits to the US for 6 Japanese orthopaedic surgeons. Japanese Fellows travel odd years and tour orthopaedic institutions across the US and conclude their tour at the AOA Annual Meeting. In exchange, US Fellows travel even years and visit top Japanese academic centers and historical landmarks. |
