| Description: |
James J. Irrgang, PT, PhD, ATC, FAPTA was elected as a Catherine Worthingham Fellow of the American Physical Therapy Association. APTA’s Catherine Worthingham Fellow membership category was established through actions taken by the House of Delegates and the Board of Directors in 1980 and 1981 “to recognize those persons whose work has resulted in lasting and significant advances in the science, education, and practice of the profession of physical therapy.” Catherine Worthingham was an exemplary leader in physical therapy education, science, and practice for more than fifty years, and it is fitting that her contributions be recognized by stimulating others to reach levels of comparable achievement.
Dr. Irrgang's election was announced at the meeting of the 2009 House of Delegates on June 8, and he will be recognized along with all other Fellows during the Parade of Fellows during the Opening Ceremonies at PT 2009: The Annual Conference and Exposition of the APTA in Baltimore , Maryland . The Honors and Awards Celebration will be held June 11.
