| Description: |
Drs. Christian H. Coyle, Nicholas J. Izzo, and Constance R. Chu were featured in an article in the June 2009 issue of the Journal of Orthopaedic Research . The article is entitled “Sustained Hypoxia Enhances Chondrocyte Matrix Synthesis” and based on research performed in Dr. Chu's Cartilage Restoration Laboratory. The focus of the study was to determine whether sustained hypoxia enhances the production of cartilage matrix proteins, and their study showed that sustained hypoxia enhances articular chondrocyte matrix synthesis and viability in three-dimensional alginate culture. |
